Approach

The approaches we chose were one aimed at helping the learners to develop their language skills and probably create strategies that will serve them even after the end of the course and make the students able to understand all the issues clearly. To do this, we will choose one of the main principles of this approach, whose name is pragmatic based on a goal-oriented courses which establishes goals that students must achieve up to a certain time during the course, which makes it possible to look at the level of progress that the course is having.

Strategy to teach this course: audio-lingual method

We chose this method because focuses on the development of oral skills. It aims to improve students’ speaking achievement. This method is intended for learners to listen and speak, that is, oral skills are essential to develop in this method and it is precisely what our students in the geography program need to improve these language skills.

              The Audio-Lingual Method aims to develop communicative competence of students using dialogues and drills. The use of dialogues and drills are effective in foreign language teaching as they lead the students to produce speech. Repetition of the dialogues and the drills will enable students to respond quickly and accurately in spoken language (Mart,2013 , P.64).
